Jakarta. MINI Indonesia today hosts a media workshop to provide more information and insight into the MINI Connected innovation. This special event represents an opportunity for selected automotive and lifestyle media outlets to learn more about MINI Connected and to try its features in an exciting workshop.

This workshop is to be held at the MINI Showroom in Pondok Indah in order to offer participants a wholly intriguing and fun experience.

When it comes to the development and configuration of new driver assist systems, MINI exploits the BMW Groups' worldwide leadership in innovation in this area. Networking technology has been used for the targeted exchange of information between driver, vehicle and the outside world for more than 40 years. Innovations like the radar-based distance warning device (1972), the world's first on-board computer with exterior temperature display (1980), the first navigation system fully integrated into the vehicle from a European manufacturer (1994) and the first Emergency Call system, still unique to this day, first introduced in 1997, are among the milestones set by the company in this area. As early as 2007, interface technology for integrating the Apple iPhone in the MINI operating system was introduced. Since 2011, additional online-based functions can be integrated into the MINI Connected package with the help of apps.

MINI Connected brings all the functionality of the smart phone directly into the MINI. It uses a USB interface to incorporate the smart phone's various features into the audio and infotainment system, where they are accessed via the central display. The functions areoperated via the MINI Controller.

MINI Connected features include Driving Excitement, Dynamic Music, web radio and social media services such as Facebook and Twitter. As such, it offers a complete in-car infotainment solution.

The range of MINI Connected functions and apps are constantly expanding. Social media services are fully integrated into the vehicle. Also, the driver’s smart phone data allowance is used, meaning no additional network subscriptions are required

Functions which can be integrated into the vehicle via apps in the areas of social networks and infotainment are available for both the Apple iPhone and for smartphones using the Android operating system. The MINI Connected program provided through smartphone apps includes vehicle-related functions such as Mission Control, Dynamic Music, Driving Excitement and MINIMALISM Analyser, as well as online-based services such as a web radio function, the use of social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and Foursquare, the reception of RSS news feeds and entertainment features such as AUPEO! and TuneIn.

Furthermore, it contains the extensive MINI Connected in-car infotainment program, unique functional diversity, and permanent expansion options with apps integrated in the automobile via smartphone. Typical MINI functions such as Mission Control, Dynamic Music, Driving Excitement and MINIMALISM Analyser all mean increased driving fun, while the online connection also enables the use of social networks such as Facebook, Twitter and foursquare as well entertainment programs such as AUPEO! and TuneIn.

One of the latest update was Go Pro integrated application with MINI Connected, driver may capture every moment safely, anytime. With the colour display in the central instrument panel, all functions can be operated in typical MINI style - and more comfortably, intuitively and safely than ever before.
